Series of Poker

The World Series of poker is considered to be the biggest, most valuable, media hyped and oldest known poker tournament in the entire world. The WSOP is held every year in Lag Vegas. The very first World Series Poker took place in the year 1970 and it was surely an invitational event with Benny Binion inviting 6 best known players to Horseshoe Casino. At the start, the WSOP developed with slow pace. Then it took almost 12 years before this event drew about 52 contestants in the year 1982. In early 1980s, the satellite poker tournaments were declared thus allowing the players to win their own way into different events for much less than the actually entry fee. By the year 1987, about 2100 entrants were seen taking part in the poker tournament. The largest amount of poker players was seen in 2006 with about 8773 players participating in main event.

Wining WSOP mains not just brings a player the unique and prestigious World Series of Poker bracelet along with a handsome amount of cash prize, it even offers the chosen few with permanent place in the poker history as the selected group wining world's most valuable poker tournament. A large number of people hold the suspicion as to how do WSOP become so prestigious and popular? Actually it all began in the year 1949 when the very famous Nicholas Dandolas approached the known Benny Binion with the opportunity that the latter could not actually refuse. Nicholas wished to organize the high staked poker marathon. This marathon would be readily available to public to see and the overall duration would actually last for a few days or even months. Binion set up all the game between Dandolas and Johnny Moss, the marathon that would basically last for about 5 months and break only for meals and sleep. The two players played the best of their abilities and played every type of poker that they knew. But, Moss won the poker game and got roughly $2 million.

Bluffing in WSOP needs to be done very wisely as most of the players there are already so experienced that they know each and every strategy by heart. So, bluffing without any expertise or proper skills might leave nothing, getting caught and losing all the domination over poker table. Some of the famous players in WSOP have proved to show that stakes will be to their benefit despite holding the craps and medium. There are evident instances of such repeated actions when other players with their hands which truly have some scope lay down to actually fold fearing reputation as well as trusting the false pretenses of wining player.
